Norgard was part of two NAIA Men's Hockey National Championship squads in his time at CSS. A defenseman from Duluth Central High School, Norgard was named a NAIA All-American in 1977 and a three-time All-Tournament team selection. The three-time All-Conference choice was named the team's MVP for the program's second championship run in 1976-77 and was also a two-year captain.
