Fleck was the first CSS runner to individually qualify for a national meet multiple times as she competed in three NAIA National Championship events. Fleck first competed on the CSS cross country team as a 29-year-old sophomore. She was the team's Most Valuable Runner all three seasons and became the first to win the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Individual Title in 1996. Fleck was a recipient of the 1996-97 CSS Female Athlete of the Year award.
