Current women's basketball assistant coach Janice Sayovitz was a standout for the Saints in the mid 80s. Known then as Janice Monsaas, she was named to the National Little College Athletic Association (NLCAA) All-Tournament team in 1988 where she was the starting center on the NLCAA National Championship team. The Duluth Central graduate was also a Midwestern Women's Collegiate Conference (MWCC) all-league selection in 1986-87 and named to the Northern District All-Tournament team that same year. She still ranks high in many statistical categories, including the program's leader in rebounds (812), second-most field goals made in a season (544) and fourth on the program's all-time scoring list (1,310 points).
