The 1988 and 1989 men's soccer teams captured back-to-back national championships. The 1988 team won the National Little College Athletic Association (NLCAA) title and the 1989 squad captured the same, but newly-named National Small College Athletic Association (NSCAA) championship. 2013 CSS Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Greg Cane was the head coach of both squads that went a combined 26-12-5 those two seasons. Cane was named the NLCAA Coach of the Year in 1988. The 1989 team featured three NSCAA All-Americans, while the 1988 team had three NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
