Athletics Hall of Fame
A year removed from losing to Concordia-Seward (Neb.) 78-76 in overtime in the NLCAA Championship, the 1987-88 women's basketball team sought revenge in the 1988 NLCAA Championship game in Davenport, Iowa with 72-65 victory over Concordia to capture the program's first and only national championship. En route to the national championship, the team captured its third straight MWCC championship with a perfect 10-0 mark. The team finished with a 25-6 record in which the 25 wins matched the previous year's total matching the highest in program history. Dar Johnson, Janice Monsaas and Jodie Radosevich were named to the all-tournament team. Johnson, Denise Groth and Lisa Riebel were All-MWCC selections that season.
