Athletics Hall of Fame
Genereau was hired by fellow St. Scholastica Athletics Hall of Famer President Father Francis X. Shea to lead the institution's first varsity athletics program, Men's Hockey. Genereau, a former Duluth Cathedral High School Coach who was retired prior to taking the St. Scholastica gig, quickly built up the men's hockey program into prominence. He guided the Saints to the 1975 NAIA Men's Hockey National Championships and a 1976 runner-up finish. He was 72-36-3 in four seasons as head coach. Genereau continued as Athletic Director through the 1977 school year. Genereau was inducted into the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Hall of Fame in 2003. Genereau passed away in 1988.
