KISSIMMEE, Fla. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team won their fourth match of its five-contest Spring Break Trip by a 5-4 score on Wednesday against McMurry University (Texas) to finish 5-0 down in Central Florida.
Doubles
For the third time on the trip, the Saints came out of doubles play trailing 2-1. The No. 2 team of
Ernesto Telles (El Salvador/Academia Britanica Cuscatleca) and
Brendan Boudreau (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate) were the only doubles team to win by a score of 8-4.
Singles
Once again the Saints needed four singles wins to take the dual match. Telles got the Saints off to a good start winning his match at the No. 2 spot 6-0, 6-1. For Telles, he improves to 8-0 in singles play.
Bryce Gadke (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield HS) kept it going with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot.
Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) made it three straight singles wins for the Saints, prevailing 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot. Engelstad improves to 11-0 this spring.
The War Hawks (3-7) won the match at the No. 1 spot to put the dual at 4-3 Saints. However, Boudreau sealed the dual for CSS, winning his match at the No. 3 spot 6-3, 6-4.

The Saints (10-1) return to action in Duluth on March 24 and 25 when they face Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponents Martin Luther College and then the University of Northwestern.
