DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) -- On Friday at the Arrowhead Tennis Center, the St. Scholastica men's tennis team triumphed over Bethany Lutheran College 9-0. This victory adds to the now nine-match win streak for the Saints and the sixth sweep in a row.
Doubles:
At No. 1,
Josh Stainer (Rowlands Castle, England/South Downs College) and
Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) defeated their Viking opponents 8-4.
Mike Fontana (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (Gustavus Adolphus)) and
Bryce Gadke (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield HS), the No. 2 team, were winners with a final score of 8-1.
Jordan Lindholm (Mt. Iron, Minn./Virginia HS) and
Trace Combs (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) struggled a little, but were able to come out with the 9-7 win.
Singles:
Makar Grytsevych (Lviv, Ukraine/Lviv Linguistic Gymnasium (King)) (No.2) was the only Saint to not lose a single game, winning in straight sets of 6-0, 6-0.
Stainer (No. 1) dropped only two games to win 6-1, 6-1, his 12th singles win of the year. At No. 3, Engelstad conquered with final scores of 6-0, 6-2. Fontana, No. 4 for CSS, defeated his Bethany Lutheran opponent 6-0, 6-2. No. 6
Matt Tellander (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) was successful and won 6-2, 6-3.
At No. 5, Lindholm lost his first game 3-6, but rebounded in the seocnd set 6-0 and took the third set super-breaker 11-9 to take the match.

The Saints (12-6, 8-0 UMAC) travel to Collegeville for a non-conference match against Saint John's University on Sunday. Match time is scheduled for noon.
