DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's tennis team was beat out by Carleton College 8-1 Sunday afternoon in its home opener at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.
Doubles:
Josh Stainer (Rowlands Castle, England/South Downs College) and Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) earned the only win of the day for CSS with a score of 8-3. The other two Saint teams both were defeated by a score of 8-6.
Singles:
The Knights swept all six singles matches against the Saints. Jordan Lindholm (Mt. Iron, Minn./Virginia HS) was the closest to winning with his first set against Carleton's Mark Conrad ending in a tiebreaker. Lindholm suffered an injury during the first set though, preventing the win.
Up Next:
The Saints (1-2) travel to Lakeville to have a make-up contest with Macalester College on Monday, February 22.
