SARTELL, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team saw its six-match winning streak come to an end on Sunday with a 6-3 loss to Saint John's University in a non-conference contest.
Doubles:The Johnnies began the match by taking two of the three doubles matches. The No. 3 team of
Mike Fontana (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (Gustavus Adolphus)) and
Tyler Bates (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) was the only duo to win by a score of 8-5.
Singles:Saint John's then iced the match by capturing the first three singles matches to finish.
Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) won at the No. 3 spot by scores of 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 and Bates was the only other winner at No. 6 by scores of 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).
Up Next:The Saints (13-8) will be back in Duluth on Friday when they face Bethany Lutheran College at 3 p.m.
