Men's Tennis Falls Short Against UW-La Crosse

RESULTS

Notables:
-The loss is the second straight for CSS and their record drops to 4-4 overall.
-Engelstad (No. 3) was the lone winner for the Saints in singles competition.


LAKEVILLE, Minn. (cssaints.com) – St. Scholastica men's tennis suffered its second straight defeat on Sunday to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse by a score of 6-3 at Lifetime Fitness.
 
The Saints started out strong in doubles winning two of three matches. No. 1 team Josh Stainer (Portsmouth, England/South Downs College) and James Mack (Portsmouth, England/Cams Hill School) won in a tie breaker 9-8 (8-6) and No. 2 team Cody Mauston (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) won by a score of 8-4.
 
CSS didn't fare as well in singles, however, losing five of the six matches. Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) was the lone winner for St. Scholastica at No. 3 singles 4-6, 6-2 (10-5).
 
St. Scholastica will head to Orlando, Florida for its spring trip and will faceoff against Saint Ambrose (Iowa) for its first match on Sunday at 8 a.m. (ET).
