SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team snapped an eight-game losing streak and earned its first MIAC win of the season Wednesday night, outlasting Macalester 96–92 at the Leonard Center. The game featured constant momentum swings, with nine lead changes and four ties. Macalester held a narrow 50–45 advantage at halftime, but St. Scholastica responded with a strong second half, shooting 64.5 percent from the field after the break to erase the deficit and take control in the closing minutes.
Jayden Brown (Grantsburg, WI/Grantsburg HS) led the Saints with 20 points, adding five assists and seven rebounds while knocking down key free throws late. Koy Nelson (Port Wing, WI/South Shore HS) and Davion Butler (South Phoenix, AZ/) each added 17 points, with Butler shooting 3-for-4 from three-point range and dishing out five assists. Nebiyu Teklemariam (Alameda, CA/St. Joseph Notre Dame HS) provided a major spark off the bench, finishing with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including a pair of timely three-pointers during the second half run.
St. Scholastica took its first lead of the second half early and continued to answer every Macalester push. The Saints scored 51 points in the final 20 minutes and went 11-for-24 from beyond the arc for the game, finishing at 45.8 percent from three-point range. The visitors also held a 46–40 edge in points in the paint, helping offset Macalester's perimeter shooting.
