DULUTH, Minn. – The 2025-26 season came to a close Saturday afternoon at Reif Gymnasium as the College of St. Scholastica men's basketball team fell to Concordia-Moorhead, 87-74, in the regular season finale.
The Saints finish the year at 7-20 overall and 3-13 in MIAC play, while the Cobbers improve to 19-6 overall and 11-5 in conference action.
Saturday's contest also marked Senior Day for Koy Nelson (Port Wing, WI/South Shore HS), Owen Larsen (Chisago City, MN/Chisago Lakes HS), and Ben Raymond (Hudson, WI/Concordia Academy), as the Saints recognized their contributions to the program prior to tipoff.
Nelson delivered a strong performance in his final game at Reif, leading the Saints with 24 points on 9-of-23 shooting, including three three-pointers, while adding seven rebounds and two steals. The senior guard continued to attack downhill and knock down perimeter shots, helping keep the Saints within reach throughout the afternoon.
Davion Butler (South Phoenix, AZ/) added 14 points, seven assists, and three steals in 35 minutes of action. Carlos Johnson (Benton Harbor, MI/Benton Harbor HS) provided a spark off the bench with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Jayden Brown (Grantsburg, WI/Grantsburg HS) chipped in nine points, while Hayden Kloos (Chaska, MN/Holy Family HS) contributed six points and a team-high eight rebounds.
As a team, the Saints shot 40.3 percent from the field (27-of-67) and 41.4 percent from three-point range (12-of-29). St. Scholastica improved its shooting in the second half, connecting at a 44.1 percent clip over the final 20 minutes.
Concordia-Moorhead was powered by a dominant inside presence, scoring 54 points in the paint and shooting 47.9 percent from the floor. The Cobbers built a double-digit lead in the first half and maintained control down the stretch despite multiple second-half pushes by the Saints.
Though the season ends short of postseason play, the Saints showed resilience and continued development throughout the year. Saturday's Senior Day celebration honored Nelson, Larsen, and Raymond for their leadership and commitment as they close out their collegiate careers.
