The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2024-25 MIAC Men's Tennis Awards, and there were several Saints who claimed awards along the way.
Dane Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), the sophomore standout, was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team in both singles and doubles for the second consecutive year. Patten, who competed as the No. 2 singles player for all of the thirteen matches he played in, finished the season with a 6-7 overall record in that spot and finished even better in conference play with a 4-4 MIAC singles record. In the doubles matches, Patten had an outstanding 13-3 overall record on the No. 2 doubles team and finished 7-2 in the MIAC in that spot.
Patten's doubles partner,
Jack Onkka (Thief River Falls, Minn./Thief River Falls HS), was also named to the MIAC All-Conference Doubles Team for being the other half of that 13-3 (7-2 MIAC) No. 2 doubles squad. This is the second time Onkka has made the MIAC All-Conference Doubles Team. The junior also won the award during his freshman year in 2023 and now finds himself back in familiar territory.
The final member of the Saints to receive honors was
Eamon Gerrard-Stace (Brisbane, Au./St Joseph's Nudgee College), who became a stalwart at the No. 3 singles position for the team. Gerrard-Stace finished the year with a 10-4 overall record in the singles and was great in conference play with a 6-3 MIAC record. This was his second MIAC All-Conference Singles Team designation, previously receiving the nomination in 2023. All three players return for the 2025-26 season with the goal to get the Saints back into contention for the MIAC Championships.
