Jake Schelonka's (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) bat heated up as much as the temperature in Florida during the Saints baseball Spring break trip. This offensive outburst earned the graduate student the MIAC Baseball Player of the week award. During the week long stretch for the Saints, Schelonka went 12-26 from the plate and had four multi-hit games, helping the Saints pick up four wins in six games at the Russmatt Invitational. In addition to nearly hitting .500, Schelonka drove in three runs as well as scoring three runs himself. His crowning achievement for the week occurred against Thomas on March 13th where Schelonka went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, one RBI, and three runs scored against Thomas on 3/13.
Schelonka and the rest of the Saints baseball team currently sits at 6-6 on the season and is heating up going into the start of conference play. St. Scholastica will play their home opener against Bethel University on March 29th in a double-header.
