COLLEGEVILLE, Minn.-- Saints Track and Field headed to Collegeville, MN on Saturday to preview the venue for the upcoming
MIAC Indoor Championships. St. Benedict, University of Minnesota – Morris, and University of Wisconsin–Superior were the other full teams in attendance.

Junior captain Ava Fink (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) flashed her talent with her first collegiate victory in the 60m dash. Fink's time of 8.20 was an all-time PR. This betters Fink's mark as the seventh fastest in the event in school history. This is also the sixth fastest time run in the MIAC so far this season.

Fink proved her first win of the day wasn't a fluke by running away from the field in the 200m dash. Fink
attained the double crown sprint victory as she surged across the finish line in 27. 83 seconds.

Junior Kayla Nelson (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) was right on her teammate's heels in the one-lap race. Nelson's seasonal best time of 28.28 seconds was good for runner-up honors.

In the 800m dash, sophomore distance runner Regan DeWitt (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) got out to a patient start to survey her opponents. After tailing the leaders for the first lap, DeWitt made a commanding move to take the lead
and never looked back. Gradually pulling away from the field with each step, DeWitt crossed the line in first with a time of 2:24.06.

Junior captain Ella Engen (Clearbrook, Minn./Clearbrook-Gonvick HS) snatched victory on her final throw of the shot put competition. Her toss of 10.84m shot her into first as the previous leaders couldn't find a way to match her with their own last-ditch efforts. Engen also saved her best throw for last in the weight throw competition. But this time it was her own teammate that stood in the way of the win.

Ella Stritesky (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) held full control of the weight throw competition with her winning toss of 14.35m. Engen placed right behind her with a throw of 13.70m.
