Superior, WI. - The College of St. Scholastica completed their second tournament of the season this weekend at the Twin Ports Collegiate. The team concluded the event in 4th place out of 8 teams.
The 36-hole tournament was played over two consecutive days at Nemadji Golf Club. The par of the course was 72, with a slope rating of 126. The Saints played the white tees, for a yardage of 5,865.
The Saints finished the event in the 4th spot, totaling a team score of 720 (364, 353, +144). Augsburg was able to secure the front spot, shooting 633 (+87), followed by UW-River Falls 672 (+96) and Luther 718 (+142).
Carissa Oberding (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) led the Saints with rounds of 86 and 79 shooting a 165 (+21) to finish 5th individually. Maggie Lamppa (Hoyt Lakes, Minn./Mesabi East HS) was next for the Saints, with rounds of 90 and 86 to shoot a 176 (+32), finishing T12.

Round One

Carissa Oberding (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) had a great showing on the course during the first round of 18, shooting 86 (+14). She sat at T7. Oberding knocked off two strokes on the back nine, sneaking her way into the top 10.

Maggie Lamppa (Hoyt Lakes, Minn./Mesabi East HS) shot the team's second lowest score of the day, 90 (+18). Lamppa made one birdie on the front nine, helping her shoot under 41, she sat at T13.

Emily Nystrom (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) had the same result in round in round one, shooting a 90 (+18). Nystrom also shot a 41 on the front with one birdie, sharing the T13 position.

Freshman Kate Anderson (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) closed out the team scoring with an 98 (+26). Anderson shared a standing position of T21.

Madelyn Morris (Duluth, MN) competed in the individual category for the Saints, shooting 107 (+33), Morris sat in 32nd.
Round Two

Carissa Oberding (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) finished in the top spot for the Saints after shooting a round of 79 (+7) for a total of 165. Oberding tallied one birdie on her final hole during the second round, closing out the event in position 5th. She knocked off seven strokes in her second round, which helped her move up two spots for her finishing position.

Maggie Lamppa (Hoyt Lakes, Minn./Mesabi East HS) also made advancements during her final round, moving up one spot on the podium to T12. Lamppa shot an 86 (+14) for a total of 176, making a birdie on her back nine.

Emily Nystrom (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) stayed consistent over two rounds, finishing in T15. Nystrom concluded with one extra stroke than day one, shooting 91 (+19) totaling 181.

Kate Anderson (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) wrapped up the team scoring shooting 100 (+28) and ended the tournament and solely held the 26th spot.

Madelyn Morris (Duluth, MN) finished in the solo 31st position, after competing in the individual category. Morris shot five strokes better in the final round, for a 100 (+28).

The Saints will continue their fall season next week for another 36-hole event in Edina, MN at Braemar Golf Course. Round one will begin on Saturday, September 14, the second and final round will wrap up on Sunday, September 15.
