The At-Large Academic All-District® Team from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) was recently announced, and the Saints came away with three members of the women's hockey team, two members of the women's nordic skiing team, and two women's golfers making the cut.
Each school can nominate a select number of student-athletes that meet the following criteria:
• at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
• at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
• compete in at least 60 percent of the institution's competitions.
The Saints hockey team was represented by Kenzie Cole and
Lyndi Schubert (Mantorville, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS). Schubert was one of the leading offensive forces for the Saints during the 2024-25 season. She started all twenty-five games for the Saints and was tied for second on the team with four goals and led the team in assists with seven on the year. Her point total of eleven was also second on the team, and she contributed nicely on defense with eighteen blocked shots. Cole had a historic season for the Saints in net, where she put up multiple sixty save performances, including a seventy-four save performance against Gustavus that set the MIAC record. She led the MIAC in total saves with 710 and finished the year with a .940 save percentage.
Saints women's golf saw the additions of
Carissa Oberding (Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS) and
Emily Nystrom (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) to the At-Large All-District team. Oberding finished with the third best single season scoring average in Saints history with an 81.7 average. She now owns the top three single season averages and is of course the career scoring record holder for the Saints with an 81.90 average over her four year career. Nystrom finished with the Saints third best scoring average on the season with a 91.8 average over eleven rounds. She is currently in eight place in Saints history for career scoring average with a 91.96 average.
Elona Greene (Leadville, CO/) and
Emily Erickson (Anchorage, AK/A.J. Dimond HS) also earned their way to At-Large bids with their successful seasons on the ski slopes. Greene was a top 100 finisher at the U.S. CXC National Champonships, coming in at 92nd place. She also finished top 60 in the 10km Skate Interval Start as part of the Salomon CXC Cup. Erickson finished 14th at the NCAA Regional Championships in the 7.5 km Classic Interval Start and also finished 18th place in the 7.5 km Classic Interval Start at the GLD CXC Cup Finale.
Stay tuned to see if any Saints move on to the Academic All-American team selection.
