Box Score St. Petersburg, Fla. - The College of Saint Scholastica men's tennis team played Division II opponent Eckerd College on their final match of spring break. The Saints would fall 7-0.
Doubles
Today's match only counted as one decision and the foes would be able to claim the point, the teams also only played to six points.
Jonas Abeleda (Sydney, Australia/St Aloysius' College) and
Eamon Gerrard-Stace (Brisbane, Au./) saw a 6-1 defeat, it would be a similar outcome for
Dane Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Carter Anderson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS).
In the final pairing,
Jack Onkka (Thief River Falls, Minn./) and
Alex Daigneault (Agua Dulce, Calif./Hart HS) had a close 4-6 loss.
Singles
Eckerd would be able to hold off the Saints, Abeleda lost in his match 6-0, 6-1.
Patten lost 6-0, 6-3 and
Harper Dircks (Hopkins, Minn./) fell 6-1, 6-0.
Onkka fell 6-1, 6-2, while
Andy Shaffer (Buffalo, Minn./) took a 6-1, 6-2 defeat.
In sixth spot, Daigneault battled with his opponent, barely losing the first set 7-5 before dropping the second set 6-1.

This concludes the spring break trip for the men's team, they finish the trip 2-3 and have an overall record of 7-7. They will face Saint John's University on Saturday, March 23 in Virginia, Minn.Â
