Unfortunately, the Saints' bats were held in check by the Cardinals pitching staff, as CSS fell in both games to Saint Mary's.

Game One
Mitchell Novak (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) opened up the game with a leadoff single, which was followed by a single by Jake Schelonka (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) to put two Saints batters on. The Saints broke through with two outs, when Luke Schemenauer (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chippewa Falls HS) doubled, scoring Novak, as CSS took an early 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals scored big in the bottom of the second inning, tallying three runs, all on an RBI double, as Saint Mary's now led 3-1.

After the Saints missed out on an opportunity in the top of the third inning, the Cardinals grabbed another run in the bottom of the third, extending their lead to 4-1.

The Saints were unable to record a hit through the sixth inning, in the process, Saint Mary's tagged on a run on an RBI double, as CSS now trailed 5-1.

Saint Mary's added another run in the bottom of the sixth inning, extended its lead to 6-1 over CSS.

In the top of the seventh inning, the Saints got a man on via a Cardinal error and a single by Schelonka. Jack Harris (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep (Skyline CC)) drove in Ryan Garlick (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS (Iowa Central Community College)) on a sacrifice fly, making the score 5-2, but the Saints couldn't mutter another run, as the Cardinals took game one by a score of 6-2.
