WINONA, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica faced St. Mary's University of Minnesota and ended up with two 8-0 losses in five innings.
CSS 0, St. Mary's 8
Aislind Dail (Sumner, Wash./Sumner HS) got the game going with a lead-off single through the left side but the Saints weren't able to capitalize on it and bring in a run. CSS remained scoreless and didn't see their next hit of the game until the fourth inning which was another single through the left side but this time by Sam Paniagua. Going into the fifth inning the Saints were only down 4-0 and in the top of the inning, Haley Rosenthal (Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) singled up the middle. Maddison Blade (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) then singled to right center but St. Mary's held the Saints and went into the bottom of the inning keeping CSS scoreless. Unfortunately, SMU was able to put up the four runs needed to end the game early for a run rule and the Saints fell 8-0.
At the plate for CSS the four hits came from Dail, Paniagua, Rosenthal and Blade.

In the second game, the Saints didn't see their first hit until the third inning. The first hit came from Payton Lang (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) which was a single up the middle. Dail followed right behind Lang and singled to center field. Just like the first game, SMU was able to hold CSS and prevented CSS from scoring either of those runners. The third and final hit for St. Scholastica came from Kari Breuer (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) in the fourth inning which was a single to center field. Unfortunately, again the Saints couldn;t put any runs up and St. Mary's was able to put up eight by the fourth inning which ended the game in a run rule.
At the plate for CSS the three hits came from Lang, Dail and Breuer.
