Ernst, Shogren Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

DULUTH, Minn. – The College of St. Scholastica softball team placed two student-athletes on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as Sami Ernst (Forest Lake, MN./Forest Lake HS) and Aleah Shogren (Bemidji, MN/Bemidji HS) earned the honor following strong performances both on the field and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible, softball student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, compete in at least 90 percent of the team's games or start 66 percent of contests, while pitchers can also qualify by throwing at least 35 innings.

Ernst, a sophomore outfielder, appeared in all 40 games for the Saints while making 32 starts. She finished the season batting .346 with 44 hits, 24 runs scored and 11 stolen bases, ranking second on the team in batting average among qualified hitters. Ernst also posted a .394 on-base percentage and recorded a .952 fielding percentage in the outfield.

Shogren, a sophomore pitcher, earned Academic All-District honors after throwing 139.1 innings in the circle this season. She made 34 appearances with 20 starts, totaling 54 strikeouts while also adding 40 assists defensively. Shogren additionally contributed at the plate, batting .333 in limited opportunities.
