-Perala and Bredl both pitch two shutout innings put of bullpen

AUBURNDALE, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team wrapped up is final game in Florida and the Russmatt Invitational this afternoon, taking on Ohio Northern University. The Saints struck first in this one, taking an early 3-0 lead, but the Polar Bears scored five runs in the fourth inning, en route to a 5-4 victory over CSS.

How it Happened
The Saints cracked the scoreboard in the second inning, after Jack Tiemann (Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS) and Kam Larson (Chaska, Minn./Chaska HS) both got on base by drawing walks, Luke Schemenauer (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chippewa Falls HS) also got on base via a hit-by-pitch. With the bases loaded and two outs, Mitchell Novak (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) delivered a three RBI double to left field, as CSS took an early 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Polar Bears claimed the lead, after scoring five runs on five hits, while CSS had two errors in the inning, as Ohio Northern now led 5-3.

The Saints picked up a base hit in the top of the fifth, as Jack Harris (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep (Skyline CC)) lined a single to right field, but nothing came of it and the score remained at 5-3 in favor of the Polar Bears.

The Saints got a run back in the top of the seventh inning, as Novak led off the inning with a single, and would later score on a Polar Bear error, cutting the deficit to 5-4.

The Saints, unfortunately, were held in check in the eighth and ninth inning, as St. Scholastica fell in this one by a score of 5-4.
