Men’s Golf Finishes First Spring Meet with Fifth Place Finish

SORRENTO, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica concluded its opening round of the spring season today, wrapping up the second round of the Shenandoah University Spring Fling, at Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida. CSS finished with a team score of 700 (+124), finishing in fifth place in the event.
 
How it Happened
Trevor T. Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) finished atop the leaderboard for the Saints, finishing with a second round score of 76, two shots better than his first round, while also finishing 12th in the tournament overall.
 
Hunter Berg (Esko, Minn./Lincoln Secondary) had himself a much better second round today, finishing his second round with a score of 79, which was 14 shots better than his first round. Berg finished the tournament with a two-round score of 172 (+28), while finishing tied for 25th.
 
Zach Wenner (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) and Ben Nordenstrom (Mora, Minn./Mora HS) finished third and fourth respectively for the Saints, as Wenner finished with a second round score of 89, and Nordenstrom finished with a second round score of 98. Wenner finished in 28th place, and Nordenstrom finished in 30th place.
 
The biggest jump from round one to round two went to Cody Lewison (Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS), whose second round score of 103 was 19 shots better than round one. Lewison finished in 32nd in the tournament.
 
Up Next
The Saints' next event will be on Sunday, April 16th, and Monday, April 17th, where they will take part in the Augsburg Men's Spring Invitational at Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, Minnesota.
