Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Augsburg Men’s Spring Invitational

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's golf team took part in its first event of the spring season this past Sunday and Monday at Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, Minnesota. The Saints finished second of three teams in the event. 

How it Happened

Connor O'Hara (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) finished atop the leaderboard for CSS, as he fired a 75 in both rounds. This strong performance was able to land him second overall on the tournament leaderboard. 

Jack Schmitz (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) was able to place second for the Saints in the invitational, posting scores of 78 and 80, respectively, finishing in eighth place overall. 

Jon Bertram (Appleton WI./Xavier High School) and Jack Gladitsch (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) finished tied for ninth place on the leaderboard this past weekend, as Bertram fired scores of 77 and 82, while Gladitsch posted scores of 78 and 81. 

Declan Young (Fergus Falls, Minn./Kennedy Secondary School) shot an opening round score of 72, which was tied for second best after Sunday's round. Young finished out his weekend with a score of 88, finishing tied for 11th place overall. 

Rounding out the scoring for St. Scholastica, Daniel Guerra III (Katy, TX/Seven Lakes High School) finished his weekend with a two-round total of 169 (81-88) finishing tied for 17th place. Behind him was Hunter Berg (Esko, Minn./Lincoln Secondary) who finished in 21st place overall, with scores of 88 and 85 this weekend.

The Saints men's golf team will be back in action this upcoming Friday and Saturday, where they will take part in the Bobby Krig Invite hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College at New Prague Golf Club.
