The At-Large Academic All-District® Team from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) was recently announced, and the Saints came away with three members of the men's hockey team, two members of the men's nordic skiing team, and one men's golfer making the cut.
Each school can nominate a select number of student-athletes that meet the following criteria:
• at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
• at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
• compete in at least 60 percent of the institution's competitions.
The Saints hockey team was represented by
Alessio Raso (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, Canada/The Lawrenceville School),
Nick Lanigan (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), and
Jacob Seitz (Mountain Iron, Minn./Virginia HS). Lanigan found action in all twenty-five of the Saints games this year and proved to be an offensive spark for the reserve lines. He contributed two goals and five assists for a total of seven points on the season and was known to mix it up on the defensive end as well with eight blocked shots for the year. Seitz was a heavy part of the Saints offense during the 2024-25 campaign. He tied for third on the team with eight goals and was second for the Saints in assists, with sixteen. His point total of twenty-four ranked fourth for St. Scholastica. He also contributed ten blocks on the defensive side of the ice. Raso played in twenty-one of twenty-five games for the season. The senior wrapped up his Saints career with one goal, one assist, and nine blocked shots on the defensive end.
Connor O'Hara (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) earned his way onto the Academic All-District Team after setting the record for the lowest single season scoring average in Saints history with a 75.9 average in fifteen rounds. He broke Liam Butche's record by nearly a whole stroke, and sits in third place all time for the Saints in career scoring average with a 79.80. He improved his scoring average by nearly eight strokes compared to a year before and looks to be in MIAC All-Conference Contention next year.
Jakob Craig (Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union High School) and
Jonny Saldin (Stillwater, MN/Homeschool) represented the men's nordic skiing team for the At-Large bids. They both had solid seasons on the slopes for the Saints, finishing top twenty in the 20km Freestyle Mass Start at the NCAA Regional Championships with Craig finishing in eleventh place, and Saldin finishing just a minute behind him in seventeenth place.
Stay tuned to see if any Saints move on to the Academic All-American team selection.
