DAYTONA, Fla. – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team played its second game of the Florida Sunshine Shootout this evening, taking on the Statesmen from Hobart College. The Saints trailed by five points heading into halftime, but the Statesmen opened up its lead in the second half, taking tonight's match by a score of 81-66.

How it Happened
The Saints jumped out to an early 9-1 lead, with help from a layup by Kevin Thomas (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) and a dunk from Luke Raymond (Hudson, Wis./Concordia Academy (UW-River Falls)), and Noah Winesett (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) scored from beyond-the-arc to go along with a layup.

A three-pointer by Tanner Thomson (Woodbury, Minn./Stillwater HS) and a converted and-one from Andre Crockett Jr. (Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS (Rochester Community College)) helped CSS hold a four-point lead.

CSS was able to extend its lead back to nine, as layups from Aaron Keykal (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) and Raymond, followed with a three-pointer from Koy Nelson (Port Wing, Wis./South Shore HS), gave CSS a 23-14 cushion over the Statesmen.

Later in the half, Winesett hit another three-pointer as the Saints held a four-point lead. However, Hobart would go on a quick 8-0 run to take a 32-28 lead.

Closing out the first half, Crockett Jr. and Keykal were able to both hit jumpers, as the Saints trailed 39-34 at half.

Winesett and Thomson got the scoring started in the second half with the duo each hitting jumpers, but the Statesmen led 52-38 after an early scoring spree to open the second half.

The Saints would be able to bring the deficit back down to 10, with Winesett and Crockett Jr. getting jumpers to fall, but Hobart responded with an 8-0 run, leading 62-44.

Thomson scored on two of the Saints' next three possessions, but the Statesmen still led by 15.

As the Statesmen held a 20-point lead, Winesett hit a pair of jumpers, followed by three-pointers from Nelson and Winesett, as Hobart were coming closer to its 10th consecutive victory.

The Saints scored its last field goal in the late minutes of the game, when Ben Raymond (Hudson, Wis./Concordia Academy) scored his first career points on a three-pointer, but Hobart came away with a 81-66 victory over CSS.
