DULUTH, Minn – The College of St. Scholatica men's basketball team heads out this afternoon for a flight to the sunshine state as the Saints will play two games in Daytona Beach, FL over the holiday break. They will face to strong non-conference teams this week, their first match is scheduled for Thursday, December 28th at 6:00 PM (EST) against
Ramapo College, a team based out of New Jersey. The Roadrunners have won their third straight game and have a record of 9-2 overall.
It won't get easier for the Saints as their next opponent is
Hobart College, a team from the New York. The Statesmen are currently undefeated winning their first eight games in a row, which is the program's longest win streak to start a season. That game is scheduled for Friday, December 29th at 8:00 PM (EST).
The Saints are currently 1-7 overall and are lead by seniors
Noah Winesett (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), who is currently averaging 14.4 points per game and
Kevin Thomas (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS), who is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game.
Andre Crockett Jr. (Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS (Rochester Community College)) and
Tanner Thomson (Woodbury, Minn./Stillwater HS) have been exciting new players for the Saints, while
Jeff Moore (Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) and
Koy Nelson (Port Wing, Wis./South Shore HS) have provided sparks for the team.
The Saints also have required two new guards from the transfer portal, including 6'3 guard from Marian University
Jacquez Overstreet (Appleton, Wis./Oshkosh West (Marian University)) and 6'2 guard from Auora University,
Kobe Karels (Cambridge, Minn./Isanti (Aurora University)).
