Men’s Track & Field Takes on WIAC at UW-Stout

Menomonie, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team continued their string of meets with an appearance at UW – Stout on Saturday. Top WIAC competition came in full force with UW – Eau Claire and UW – Oshkosh storming the Johnson Fieldhouse in Menomonie, WI. Crown College, Northwestern College, UW – Superior, and Viterbo also competed at the meet.

TOP RESULTS
After a rusty prelim, Samuel Eben Ebai kept his 60m title streak alive with a commanding victory in the men's competition. Many of the nation's best sprinters were in the building on Saturday, but none matched Eben Ebai's winning time of 6.90. In the 200m, Eben Ebai cruised to a comfortable runner-up finish in a time of 22.62. 

Freshman Noah Kubicek (Owatona, Minn./Owatonna HS) continued the hot start to his career as a Saint by placing third overall in his debut 600m in a time of 1:26.05. 

In the 400m dash, senior captain Jericho Peterson (Mountain Iron, Minn./Mountain Iron-Buhl HS) led a heat sweep with teammate Sean Alfaro Deidrich. Their times of 53.70 and 53.82 placed them fifth and sixth overall. Also winning his heat, and taking seventh place overall, was sophomore sprinter Tyler Anderson (Brookston, Minn./South Ridge HS).

UP NEXT
The Saints are back in action at home next weekend, hosting the Lake Superior Challenge on February 4th. After that, they will be back in the Twin Ports for the Maday Classic at UW – Superior.
