ST. JOSEPH, Minn.(
csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica softball was only able to get in one game against 22
nd-ranked College of Saint Benedict on Sunday before having to call it due to the weather. The Saints fell to St. Ben's 7-1 in the first game.

CSS started the first inning with just one hit by Howe. In the bottom half of the first inning the Bennies (13-2, 1-0 MIAC) came out strong with two quick runs to take a lead over the Saints 2-0. The Bennies had maintained their 2-0 lead against the Saints until the top of the fourth when
Olivia Howe (Scandia, Minn./Forest Lake HS) hit a home run over the left field fence making it just a one run game.
It was in the fifth inning that St. Bens was able to gain a bigger lead over CSS as they scored four runs off of four hits. In the sixth inning, there was a 15 minute weather delay due to the snow. Once returning, the remaining inning of the game St. Ben's put one last run on the board but unfortunately St. Scholastica could not and they ended up taking a 7-1 lead.
At the plate, Howe went 3-for-3 with a home run. The Saints also had three doubles from
Kari Breuer (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS), Howe, and
Heidi Stewart (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS (Saint Mary's)).
