csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team shut out Concordia College-Moorhead Saturday night at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center 9-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action.
Doubles
The Cobbers (1-14, 0-8 MIAC) would default at the No. 3 spot, while the Saints cruised to wins in the other two matches.
The No. 1 team of
Jonas Abeleda (Sydney, Australia/St Aloysius' College) and
Giacomo Lucchesi (Lima, Peru/Santa Maria Marianistas) won 8-1.
The No. 2 team of
Carter Anderson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and
Alex Daigneault (Agua Dulce, Calif./Hart HS) won by an 8-3 margin.
Singles
Abeleda cruised at the No. 1 spot by scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Anderson dropped only one game at the No. 2 spot to win 6-0, 6-1.
Lucchesi dropped only two games at the No. 3 position to win 6-2, 6-0.
Riley Versich (Kelly Lake, Minn./Hibbing HS (Itasca CC)) won 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot.
Jacob Seitz (Mountain Iron, Minn./Virginia HS (Minnesota Magicians-NAHL)) was the final winner at the No. 5 position by scores of 6-0, 6-1.
Concordia defaulted at the No. 6 spot.
