ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its 2021 Men's Tennis All-Conference Awards on Monday afternoon, honoring the outstanding athletic performances of 13 student-athletes.

St. Scholastica took both of the major awards with Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) being named Player of the Year and Head Coach Wells Patten earning the Coach of the Year accolade.

Schneider posted an unblemished 12-0 record at the No. 1 singles slot for CSS, going 4-0 in regular season UMAC play. Schneider and doubles partner Jack Kearney (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) went 8-4 in doubles at No. 1, also notching a 4-0 record in conference competition.

The senior from Duluth, Minn. helped the Saints to both the regular season and postseason UMAC Championships, securing key victories at No. 1 in both singles and doubles in the postseason final vs. UW-Superior. Schneider extends CSS' Player of the Year streak to seven-straight in men's tennis dating back to 2014.

Patten earns his 18th UMAC Men's Coach of the Year honor as the Saints went an undefeated 6-0 in UMAC play and 10-4 overall. As a program, CSS has now won 24 UMAC regular season titles and 19 UMAC Tournament championships under Patten. The Saints will be making their second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, taking on Illinois Tech in the opening round on May 14 in Chicago, Ill.
