csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team will host an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament game Monday night when it faces Crown College in a first round game at the Reif Gymnasium.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints won at least 10 UMAC games for the fifth straight season, but for the first time since 2012-13 finished outside the top three in the league.
-This is the first time in the five-team tournament format, the Saints will play in first round game.
-The last time the Saints opened a UMAC Tournament, which wasn't the semifinal round was the 2009-10 season when they were the fifth-seed in the six-team tournament and advanced all the way to the championship game.
-The Saints ended the regular season on Saturday with a 13-point loss to regular season champion University of Northwestern (Minn.).
-The Saints continue to have five players averaging in double-figures in scoring; CSS has not finished a season with five players averaging in double-figures in scoring since the 1996-97 season.
-Of those five players, three are sophomores in
Nick Carlson (Canyon, Minn./South Ridge HS),
Jack Silgen (Crosby, Minn./Crosby-Ironton HS (St. Thomas)) and
Quinn Fischer (Esko, Minn./Esko HS); a junior,
Jarod Wilken (Annandale, Minn./Annandale HS) and a senior
Collin Anderson (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS).
-Anderson led the team in scoring during the regular season at 15.2 points per game.
What You Need to Know about Crown:
Record: 10-14, 8-8 UMAC
-The Storm are making their third consecutive UMAC Tournament appearance.
-This will be the third straight year Crown will be playing in the First Round Tournament game, but the first on the road.
-They won the First Round game last season, defeating the University of Minnesota Morris 78-71.
-Crown ended its regular season on Saturday with an 86-76 home win over Northland College.
-The Storm have scored at least 86 points in each of the last three games.
-Crown is led by reigning UMAC Player of the Year Timothy Wendel.
-Wendel leads the conference averaging 24.2 points per game and ranks second in the UMAC 10.0 rebounds per game.
-Last week, Wendel became the first Crown player to score 2,000 points in a career.
-Zach Skorik leads the conference with a 3.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
-Gunnar Ledin tied for the conference lead with 49 made 3-point field goals in UMAC action
-Crown led the UMAC at the free throw line, making 75 percent of its attempts.

Series History: Monday will be the first postseason meeting between the two programs … The Saints have won seven straight in the series with a 41-point win at The Reif back in December and a five-point victory in St. Bonifacius just over two weeks ago … CSS is 20-1 all-time at home against the Storm.
