Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Storm

Box Score CHASKA, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory on Saturday against Crown College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play.
 
Doubles
The No. 2 doubles team of Connor Croft (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and CJ Howard (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) did not drop a game in their win, taking it 8-0. The No. 3 duo of Elliot Kazlauskas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) and Nick Wlodyga (Baldwin, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) won 8-1. Finally, the No. 1 team of Rafa Gonzalez (La Libertad, El Salvador/FESA) and Duke Nguyen (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy and Summit School) won 8-4.
 
Singles
Gonzalez won his match at the No. 1 spot by scores of 6-0, 6-2. Croft prevailed 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. Kazlauskas won 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 position.
 
Nguyen didn't drop a single game at the No. 4 spot, winning 6-0, 6-0. Howard was victorious at the No. 5 position by scores of 6-2, 6-1. Wlodyga was the final singles winner, also shutting out his opponent 6-0, 6-0.

With Sunday's match at the University of Minnesota Morris being postponed, the Saints (8-7, 3-0 UMAC) will next be in action next Saturday against Martin Luther College in Virginia, Minnesota.
