Steeves Recognized as NCHA Defensive Player of the Week

NCHA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – Senior St. Scholastica goaltender Zane Steeves (Red Deer, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (100 Mile Wranglers-KIJHL)) was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week; it was announced on Tuesday.
 
Steeves and the Saints took three points from 13th-ranked Milwaukee School of Engineering this weekend. MSOE, who entered the weekend unblemished and untied. was held to a 1-1 tie on Friday with Steeves making 31 saves. Then on Saturday, Steeves made a season-high 36 saves in a 3-1 CSS victory. Steeves made 67 saves on the weekend, while allowing just two goals.
 
Steeves and the Saints are back at Mars Lakeview Arena this weekend for a two-game NCHA series against Trine University (Ind.). Game one of the series is Friday night at 7 p.m.
