DULUTH, Minn. – Two members of The College of St. Scholastica men's hockey team were recognized by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) for their performances during the 2025-26 season, as sophomore forward Gavin Gunderson (Roseau, MN/Roseau HS) and sophomore defenseman Wyatt Wurst (Edina, MN/Edina HS) were both named MIAC Honorable Mention selections.
The recognition highlights a pair of Saints who played key roles for St. Scholastica throughout the season. Both Gunderson and Wurst earned the conference honor as part of the MIAC's postseason awards announcement.
Gunderson led the Saints offensively during the 2025-26 campaign, finishing the season with a team-best 15 points on nine goals and six assists across 24 games. His nine goals also paced the Saints, while he added two power-play tallies and consistently generated offense with 52 shots on goal.
In conference play, Gunderson continued to be a key contributor, tallying 12 points on seven goals and five assists in 15 MIAC games to lead the team in league scoring.
On the defensive side, Wurst anchored the Saints' blue line throughout the season. The sophomore appeared in all 25 games, contributing three goals and four assists for seven points while also providing a physical presence with 42 blocked shots, the most on the team.
Wurst also contributed offensively during conference play with five points in MIAC games, including three goals, while continuing to play a key role in defensive situations for St. Scholastica.
Gunderson and Wurst were two of ten players named to the MIAC Men's Hockey Honorable Mention team for the 2025-26 season.
