csssaints.com) – After having a pair of doubleheaders wiped out last weekend, the St. Scholastica baseball team hopes to get back to game action this week with a game against Bethel University on Wednesday and a doubleheader at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday.

What you need to know about the Saints:
-CSS started the season 5-0 for the first time since the 2006 season.
-Since then they have dropped three straight.
-It marked the third straight year, the Saints suffered a three-game losing streak at one point during the Russmatt Invitational.
-Those three losses came against Webster University (Mo.), who was ranked as high as No. 22 in the D3baseball.com poll, UMass Boston, who was No. 1 and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, who is ranked No. 25 in this week's poll.
-The Saints began the trip with an extra-inning victory over Washington University-St. Louis on a

-CSS has won five straight extra-inning games.
-Senior centerfielder
Drew Colvard (Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) is the only Saint to have a hit in all eight games thus far this season and was 11-for-23 with six RBIs down in Florida last week.
-Colvard's hitting streak is at 11 games dating back to last season.
-Senior right fielder
Steven Neutzling (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) has reached base in every game this season and is currently on a five-game hitting streak.
-Dating back to last season, Neutzling has reached base in 43 straight games.
-Former Saint and Drew's older brother, Austin Colvard, had a reached base streak of 44 games from 2014 thru the 2015 season.
-Junior third baseman
Conor Wollenzien (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) is the only other Saint to have reached base in every game this season.
-Sophomore
Aaron Weber (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Pierz HS) started the 6-for-9 with three RBIs and five runs scored in his first three starts.
-The Saints lead NCAA Division III, averaging 3.38 doubles per game.
-Sophomore
Dan Hansen (Brooklyn Center, Minn./Park Center HS) has allowed only two earned runs with 18 strikeouts in 16 innings in his first three starts of the season.
What You Need to Know about Bethel:
-Since dropping their season opener to Wartburg College (Iowa), the Royals have won 12 straight games.
-The 12 consecutive wins are a program record.
-They have scored at least 12 runs in five of those victories.
-Bethel is ranked No. 28 in the ABCA poll and is receiving votes in the D3baseball.com poll.
-The Royals rank second in NCAA Division III in ERA (1.34), No. 3 in fielding percentage (.985), No. 4 in batting average (.362) and slugging percentage (.529).
-Sam Horner leads the offense with a .532 batting average and 14 RBIs.
-Joey Fredrickson has a team-high 15 RBIs.
-Austin Ledin has belted four home runs with Bethel as a team at 11.
-Carson Selin is 3-0 with a 0.95 earned run average and 23 strikeouts in 19.0 innings.
-Michael Bohlke has 26 strikeouts in 26.1 innings pitched.

Series History: The Saints have won five straight over the Royals … They played Bethel at the University of Northwestern in March of 2016 and came away with a 6-2 victory … Bethel's only win in the series took place in April of 1993.
What You Need to Know about UW-La Crosse:
-The Eagles enter Friday's doubleheader with a 6-5 overall record.
-La Crosse is coming off being swept by last year's regional champion Concordia University Chicago in doubleheader at Copeland Park.
-The first game of that doubleheader went 16 innings.
-The Eagles have beaten University of St. Thomas to open the season and also beat Webster University (Mo.) to close out play at the Russmatt Invitational.
-Prior to being swept this weekend, two of their three losses were by one run.
-La Crosse ranks fourth in the country averaging 1.33 double plays per game.
-Brennan Schmitt ranks sixth in NCAA Division III averaging 1.89 RBIs per game and has 19 thus far.
-Schmitt also leads the team with a .348 batting average and seven doubles.
-Junior Nate Heili is a two-time First Team All-WIAC selection, who has five stolen bases.
