csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica softball team will be away from Duluth for the first time in six games when it takes on the University of Northwestern (Minn.) in a conference doubleheader on Saturday and No. 15 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a non-conference doubleheader Sunday.

Alexa Bremer (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) leads the Saints in numerous categories … She has the top batting average (.449), slugging percentage (.596), on-base percentage (.500), runs scored (19), hits (40), total bases (53) and stolen bases (8) … She leads the conference in hits and ranks in the top five in eight other categories.
Power and Speed: Since starting the season 0-for-11 at the plate, junior outfielder Cindi Rydland is 24-for-60 (.400) … In her first 23 games of the season she had only one extra-base hit … In the last five games she has three doubles and a triple … Rydland can either be a slap-hitter or a straight-up hitter from the left side.
Who Scores First: St. Scholastica is 9-0 this season when it scores in the first inning … The Saints are 13-1 when they score first period, but are 4-10 when the opponent notches the first run.
