csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team sits third after the first day of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Indoor Championships held at the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse.
Gallagher Wins/Breaks Own Record
Jacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) broke his own program record in the 5000m with a winning time of 15:27.67. He broke his previous record by over a second.
Other Top Performances
Patrick Murphy (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was runner-up in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 20'9" (6.32m).
Jack Peru (Phoenix, Ariz./Trevor G. Browne HS (Phoenix College)) was third in that event with a season-best leap of 20'1.5" (6.13m).
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) was sixth in the high jump, clearing 5'7" (1.70m).
Adam Wallenta (Eagan, Minn./Farmington HS) was seventh in the 5000m run, posting a time of 17:18.26.
Evan White (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) and
Ben Fern (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400m dash. White's time was 53.56 and Fern's time was 53.66. Both were season-bests.
