Kenneth Jinkins (Eagan, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) won a pair of events to lead the St. Scholastica men's track & field team at the Twin Ports Invite on Saturday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Jinkins' Day
In his first competition of the season, Jinkins went on to win the 200m dash with a time of 23.61. Off the track he would take the long jump event with a personal-best leap of 21'10.75" (6.67m). Jinkins was also a runner-up in the 60m hurdles, finishing in 8.89 and set a personal-best mark in the pole vault, clearing 10'6" (3.20m).
Fern Wins the 400
Freshman
Ben Fern (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) won the 400m dash, posting a time of 54.66.
Other Top Performances
Davon Bryant (Minneapolis, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) placed fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.41.
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) was fourth in the 60m hurdles, finishing in 9.34.
Wyatt Helgeson (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing a season-best height of 12'5.5" (3.80m). Cerar was fifth in that event, clearing the same height, but taking more attempts to do so.
Nick Kaplan (Elysian, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS) finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 37'9.5" (11.52m).
The 4x1600m relay team of
Evan White (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS),
Adam Wallenta (Eagan, Minn./Farmington HS),
Jimmy Lovrien (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) and
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) set a program record with a time of 20:03.86.
