csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica softball team will once again host the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament and will face the University of Minnesota Morris to open postseason play on Thursday at Kenwood Field.

UMAC Tournament History: Thursday's opening game opponent, Minnesota Morris handed St. Scholastica its first UMAC Tournament home loss since 2002 in last year's postseason tournament … The Saints responded by beating the Cougars twice the next day to capture their second consecutive title and their 13
th overall … The only time CSS has not won the tournament title since 2009 was in 2013 when the tournament was moved to Morris and the Cougars eliminated the Saints with Bethany Lutheran College eventually taking the title … The University of Northwestern is the only team outside of St. Scholastica to have won a UMAC Tournament title.
20 Home Runs: Nikki Logergren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Northern Stars)) has 23 home runs in her career, which is the second-most in program history … She is seven home runs shy of the program record.
Century Club: Kara Warren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) is the seventh player in program history to record at least 100 hits, score at least 100 runs and drive in at least 100 runs in a career … Warren has 180 hits, 104 runs scored and 128 RBIs.
Mizera With 100 Ks: Junior pitcher
Chrisi Mizera (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East HS) was the only pitcher in the UMAC to record 100 strikeouts during the regular season … She has recorded at least 100 strikeouts in each of her first three seasons … Mizera already has the second most career wins (39) in program history, but is still 56 victories shy of all-time leader Laura Heise.
Freshman Leading the Way: Maggie Schley (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) led the conference during the regular season with a .468 batting average, 17 doubles and .492 on-base percentage … Schley is four doubles shy of tying the single-season program record.
Extra-Base Hits: The Saints rank second in NCAA Division III, averaging 2.56 doubles per game … The Saints are six doubles shy of tying the single-season program record … CSS led the conference with 126 extra-base hits during the regular season, which was 53 more than the next highest total …
Kara Warren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) led the conference with 19 extra-base hits.
10-Hit Mark: The Saints are 22-0 this season when they record at least 10 hits … CSS is 1-13 when it records less than 10 hits … The game one victory over Crown on Saturday was the first time the Saints won a game when it did not record more than 10 hits …

The Eagles ended the regular season with a doubleheader split with Hamline University on Monday … Since getting swept by the Saints, Northwestern won five of six games, including sweeps of Minnesota Morris and Martin Luther College … Junior Ellen Larkin leads the team with a .352 batting average … Larkin is second in the conference with 18 walks … Fellow junior Jennifer Ankrom has a team-high four home runs, while another junior Ann Lokke has 28 RBIs … Junior pitcher Lauren Silbernick has a team-low 3.21 earned run average and a team-high 42 strikeouts … Northwestern swept UW-Superior and Minnesota Morris during the regular season.
UW-Superior Yellowjackets
Record: 24-12, 13-3 UMAC
The Yellowjackets ended the regular season on a seven-game winning streak, which including a victory over the Saints … UWS scored at least eight runs in five of those games and have allowed a total of nine runs during that span … Sophomore Ciarra Taipale leads the team with a .381 batting average … Taipale led the league with eight home runs and 43 RBIs … Another sophomore, Katie White has 11 doubles … Junior pitcher Sarah Hendrickson led the conference with 18 victories , including 16 complete games and 139.1 innings pitched … Also keep an eye on sophomore Macy Hanson, who led the team with 80 strikeouts and the conference with 10.00 strikeouts per game and a 1.63 earned run average … UW-Superior swept Minnesota Morris during the regular season.
Minnesota Morris Cougars
Record: 11-26, 8-8 UMAC
The fifth-seeded Cougars defeated the No. 4 seed Crown College 11-8 on Tuesday to advance to the double-elimination portion of the tournament … The Cougars trailed 7-3 entering the sixth inning before plating seven in the inning to rally past the Storm … Minnesota Morris will enter Thursday having scored at least 10 runs in each of the last three games … Sophomore Paige Larson leads the team with a .365 batting average … Freshman Bret Hulett leads the team with 26 RBIs … Another freshman, Megan Knickerbocker has two of the team's five home runs … Sophomore Autumn Mahoney led the UMAC with six triples and 13 stolen bases … Morris as a team led the conference with 15 triples and 51 stolen bases … The Cougars have three pitchers that have thrown at least 57 innings this season … Freshman Elli Stevenson leads the team with 35 strikeouts and a 4.49 ERA … Junior Maegan Anderson had a team-high four wins.
