DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team will once again host the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament and will open with the University of Minnesota Morris on Thursday at 1 p.m.

Game 1: #2 Northwestern vs. #3 UW-Superior – 10 a.m.
Game 2: #1 St. Scholastica vs. #4 Minnesota Morris – 1 p.m.
Game 3: Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 – 4 p.m.
Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 – 7 p.m.
Friday

Youthful Tournament: Between the four teams in this year's UMAC Tournament there are only 16 seniors will be participating … Seven of those 16 seniors belong to St. Scholastica … UW-Superior and Minnesota Morris each only have two seniors on their rosters.

The Eagles entered the final four games of the UMAC schedule tied with the Saints for first place and had a chance to get home field for the conference tournament, but a loss to Minnesota Morris last Wednesday spoiled those place and the Eagles will enter as the No. 2 seed … Northwestern ended the season with a doubleheader sweep of Martin Luther College on Saturday … The Eagles are 16-2 in their last 18 games … Northwestern is led offensively by junior Ryan Sutterer, who has a .392 batting average, 13 doubles and 37 RBIs … Sutterer also leads the conference with six saves on the year … Junior Tyler Osborn has a team-high six home runs and is second on the team with 35 RBIs … Junior Braxton Lindow has 15 stolen bases … Junior Troy Nelson has started 11 games and leads the team with 43 strikeouts … Senior Benjamin Jenney is 6-0 with a 4.34 ERA in 64.1 innings pitched.
 
UW-Superior Yellowjackets
Record: 15-17, 11-5 UMAC
 
The Yellowjackets ended the season on Sunday with a pair of losses to Hamline University … On Saturday, UWS ended the conference slate with a doubleheader sweep of North Central University (Minn.) … Superior swept Minnesota Morris during the regular season, but were swept by both St. Scholastica and Northwestern … Freshman Travis Miller leads at the plate with a .377 batting average, 10 doubles, a conference-best 10 home runs and 36 RBIs … Miller also leads the conference with a .507 on-base percentage and a .774 slugging percentage … Junior Chad Patko has seven doubles, six triples and six home runs to go along with 10 stolen bases … UWS leads the conference with 24 home runs and a .418 on-base percentage … Senior Jake Lewis has three complete games this season and has a team-low 4.91 ERA … Junior Grant Schneider has three wins and a team-best 37 strikeouts.
 
Minnesota Morris Cougars
Record: 15-23, 8-8 UMAC
 
The Cougars are back in the UMAC Tournament for the first time since the 2007 season … That year they fell to the Saints in the UMAC Tournament championship game … Morris tied with Northland College for fourth place, but by defeating Northwestern last week, earned the tiebreaker over the LumberJacks … Morris used a walk-off win over Northland on Saturday to clinch the No. 4 seed … Junior Chandler Erickson leads the offense with .369 batting average … Sophomore Jackson Gessell has six doubles, five triples, two home runs and a team-high 25 RBIs … Junior Donnie Mavencamp has nine doubles on the year with 23 RBIs … Junior Joey Hyde has three complete games and a 4.80 ERA … Fellow junior Michael Dockendorf leads the team with 35 strikeouts and sophomore Sam Melchior leads the team with four victories … The Cougars have the second best team ERA in the UMAC (5.21).
