Women's Tennis Drops Florida Finale to Union

ORLANDO, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to Union College (N.Y.) on Tuesday to wrap up spring break action down in Florida.
 
Doubles
The Saints got off to a great start, winning two of the three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) won 8-1. The No. 3 team of Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) came out on top 8-4.
 
Singles
CSS struggled in singles play, dropping five of the six matches. The lone winner was Scanlan at the No. 2 spot by scores of 6-4, 6-2. Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) dropped close match at the No. 4 spot 6-3, 3-6, (10-4).
 
Up Next:
The Saints (7-5) will be back in action on Saturday, April 2 when they will play three matches. CSS will face Bethany Lutheran College and Midland University (Neb.) in Mankato and Martin Luther College in New Ulm.
