ORLANDO, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team got off on the wrong foot to begin spring break play with a 7-2 loss to The College of Wooster (Ohio) on Sunday.
 
Singles:
It was singles play that began the dual match. Logan Engelstad (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln HS) was the lone winner for the Saints, coming out on top at the No. 3 spot 7-6, 6-0.
 
Mike Fontana (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (Gustavus Adolphus)) at No. 4 and Bryce Gadke (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield HS) at No. 5 both fell in a third set super-breaker.
 
Doubles:
Despite their shortfalls in singles, Fontana and Gadke teamed up to be CSS' only doubles team to earn a victory, winning at No. 3 by a score of 8-5.
 
Up Next:
The Saints (3-5) will take one Hamline University at 10:30 a.m. (ET) tomorrow morning and Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. (ET).
