The Saints played their first-ever March game at Wade Stadium on Tuesday and defeated Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior 6-0 on the newly-installed turf.
 
Getting the Bats Going: The Saints have recorded at least 10 hits in five of the last six games, while holding opponents to five hits or less in the last three games.
 
St. Cloud Connection: Former St. Cloud Cathedral players Steven Neutzling (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral ) and Brian Minks (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS ) each lead the team in multi-hit games this season … The freshman Neutzling has five multi-hit games, while the sophomore Minks has a four multi-hit games.
 
Wood Pitching Well: Junior Daniel Wood (Canyon, Minn./South Ridge HS ) improved to 3-0 this season after going seven innings and striking out five against the Yellowjackets on Tuesday … In three games this season, Wood has a 0.39 earned run average, 12 strikeouts and one walk in 23 innings.

The Eagles were scheduled to host Saint Mary's University on Wednesday, but that game was postponed … La Crosse went 6-2 on its spring trip last week and is just outside the D3baseball.com Top 25 poll … The Eagles have been picked to finish second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season … La Crosse returns five starting position players and three starting pitchers … Junior Taylor Kohlwey was the WIAC Co-Position Player of the Year last season and leads the team with a .531 batting average thus far this year … Alex Cordova has a team-high nine RBIs … Senior pitcher Ben Cejka is 2-0 with 15 strikeouts in 12 innings this season.

The Warhawks are your defending NCAA Division III National Champions and bring back plenty of firepower … Senior Mikole Pierce leads the returnees after earning WIAC Co-Position Player of the Year recognition in 2014, when he topped the league with 62 runs scored, 64 RBIs and ranked second with a .508 on-base percentage and 84 hits … His 136 total bases led all of NCAA Division III … Junior Curtis Morgan leads the pitching staff after recording a 6-1 record with a 3.81 earned run average in 78.0 innings of work a season ago … Whitewater is currently on its spring trip and is 7-1 … The Warhawks swept a doubleheader from St. Thomas on Wedensday.
