St. Scholastica Saints
Stats
Record: 17-2-1, 10-0-0 UMAC
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference: Standings | Stats

Last Action: The Saints registered at least 10 goals for the sixth time this season in a 10-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran College on Wednesday in a UMAC Tournament semifinal at Saints Field … Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) tied a program record with five goals in the victory … He actually had a hat trick less than 16 minutes into the game.

Switch of Venues: The UMAC Tournament championship game will be played at Ordean Stadium on the campus of Duluth East High School … The reason for the change was due to a non-athletics scheduling conflict on St. Scholastica's campus on Saturday … That means all three games between the Bridge Rivals this season will not take place on either team's home pitch.

Century Mark Milestone: In Wednesday's win over Bethany Lutheran, the Saints became the first NCAA men's soccer team in any division to record at least 100 goals in three straight seasons … The only other NCAA Division III program to achieve that feat in back-to-back seasons was Trinity University (Texas) in 2002 and 2003 … It is only the 12th time in Division III history a team has recorded at least 100 goals in a season and CSS has three of them.

Farrar on Fire: In the last six games, Kyle Farrar (London, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) has recorded 12 goals, seven assists for 31 points … In the last two games alone he has nine goals and 19 points … Farrar has moved into fourth place on the program's career scoring list with 160 points … His recent scoring output has also put him in the national lead for total goals (24) and total points (58) this season.

Drawing PKs: With Farrar's successful penalty kick attempt in Wednesday's win, the Saints set a new single-season program record for penalty kicks in a season, which was 11 in 2013 … CSS is 12-for-12 in penalty kick attempts this season with Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) recording eight of those 12 goals … The eight penalty kick goals is tied with Joe Watt's single-season program record.

Postseason History: This will be the first time the Saints will face someone other than the University of Minnesota Morris for the UMAC Tournament championship since defeating Northwestern in 2006 … CSS has been in the UMAC Tournament championship game every year since 2006 and has won the last three tournament titles and five of the last six.

NCAA Rankings: Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) has recorded nine assists in the last four games and ranks second in NCAA Division III with 20 assists on the year … The Saints lead the nation with 108 goals this season with next nearest team with 75 … CSS also leads in scoring offense (5.4 goals per game), total assists (75), shots per game (27.7) and shots on goal per game (14.9).

Upcoming Opponents
UW-Superior Yellowjackets
Record: 16-5-0, 8-2-0 UMAC
The Yellowjackets advanced to their first-ever UMAC Tournament championship game with a 1-0 victory over Minnesota Morris in the other tournament semifinal on Wednesday … Daniel Kearns scored the lone goal of the game off a corner kick with nine minutes remaining in regulation … Since falling to St. Scholastica 3-1 on October 15, the Yellowjackets are 5-1, including four straight wins, and have allowed only one goal during that span … UWS has been strong in postseason play in recent memory, capturing the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament championship in 2014 … Superior was the only UMAC team to score on the Saints this season … Senior Trevor LaRoche-Theun and sophomore Jon Bucklew lead the team with eight goals apiece … Another sophomore Reyman Solis has a team-high eight assists … In goal, Ben Wilhelm has recorded seven shutouts this season and has a 1.05 goals-against-average, which is second behind CSS goalkeeper Sandy Davidson-Hunt (Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) … Wilhelm has recorded shutouts in three straight games.

Series History: CSS leads 11-4-3

Last Meeting: The Saints have won the last three meeting with the Yellowjackets, including both games during the regular season this year … CSS won at Superior 4-0 in September and 3-1 at Ordean Stadium in mid-October … It is the longest winning streak over UWS since the series began in the late 1990s … This will be the first postseason meeting between the two programs

Looking Ahead: The winner of Saturday's championship game will take the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament, which begins next week. The tournament announcement will take place on NCAA.com on Monday at 12:30 p.m.
