PREVIEW: Baseball Hoping New Scenery Leads to New Results

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the 10th straight season, the St. Scholastica baseball team will be entering a NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, but for the very first time it will not be playing that regional in Wisconsin.

-The Gorloks won their fifth straight St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament last weekend.
-Webster is currently tied for the program record for wins in a season.
-The Gorloks are ranked No. 1 in D3baseball.com poll for the first time in program history.
-Webster is ranked third in the country in fielding percentage (.976) and sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.93).
-The Gorloks have hit 33 home runs this season, which is the fourth most in the nation.
-The lone Division III loss since the beginning of April came against Washington University-St. Louis on April 28th.
-Webster has wins over SUNY-Cortland and Marietta, which are top seeds in their respective regionals.

-The Engineers placed third in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) during the regular season, but earned their fourth conference tournament championship in program history.
-This will be Rose-Hulman's sixth NCAA Tournament appearance and its first since 2010.
-Rose-Hulman is ranked third in NCAA Division III in doubles plays turned (45).
-Alex McNally is eighth in the country with nine saves.
-The Engineers fell to Concordia-Chicago 7-0, but did defeat Illinois Wesleyan 1-0 and DePauw 16-9.
