PREVIEW: Baseball Travels to Morris, Hosts Northland Sunday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team once again has a home series changed to road series this weekend when it travels to face the University of Minnesota Morris for a three-game series starting on Friday. However, the Saints will finally be in Duluth on Sunday when they host Northland College at Duluth East High School.

Friday at Minnesota Morris – 3 p.m.
Saturday at Minnesota Morris- Noon (DH)
Sunday vs. Northland – Noon (DH)-Duluth East HS
Northland College LumberJacks Record: 17-12 (12-3 UMAC) Head Coach: Ernie May | -The Saints and LumberJacks were hoping to get three games in this week, but all were postponed. Northland will face Crown in a three-game series this weekend.
-The LumberJacks look to get back on the winning track after falling to Northwestern in the second game of a doubleheader at home, snapping an eight-game winning streak.
-Northland has been led by Daniel Kollauf and Mitch Howard. Kollauf is third in the UMAC with a .385 batting average and leads the conference with 40 RBIs. Howard is second in the UMAC with 32 RBIs.
-Colin Moberly has been the anchor of the LumberJack pitching staff. Moberly is first in the UMAC with 51 strikeouts, is tied with
Andy Davis (Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell HS ) for the UMAC lead with seven wins and is fourth with a 2.20 ERA.
-Northland leads the conference with a .315 team batting average, and is second in the UMAC with 311 hits behind CSS.
-The LumberJacks are currently in second place in the UMAC, two games behind the Saints.
Series History: (CSS is 55-0-1 vs. Northland) -The Saints have never lost to the LumberJacks in program history, with a 10-10 tie coming in 2005. |
