Box Score SAUGET, Ill. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team suffered another one-run defeat Sunday in a 10-inning loss to sixth-ranked Webster University (Mo.) by a final score of 3-2.
Webster got the scoring started early on, scoring in the first inning on an RBI single off of Saints starter
Jordan Risse (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington HS ) putting the Gorloks up 1-0.
CSS would answer in the third with a
Tyler Duex (Bloomer, Wis./Chippewa Falls HS (UW-Superior) ) two-out RBI double scoring
Jesse Heaton (Heyworth, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic HS ) who reached on a double of his own.
The Gorloks got a leadoff double to start the bottom of the sixth inning. Following a CSS error, Webster pushed a run across on a double play ball to make it 2-1.
The Saints would knot it up in the seventh inning when
Parker Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minn.-Duluth)) reached on an error by the Webster first baseman, scoring
Brian Minks (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS ) who singled earlier that inning making the score 2-2 late in the game.
The Gorloks loaded the bases with one in the seventh, but lineout to Minks resulted in a double play ending the threat. CSS had its opportunity in the top of the eighth when
Grant Rindal (Superior, Wis./Superior HS ) was thrown out at the plate. Webster did have a base runner in the bottom of the ninth, but never got him past first base meaning that extra innings would be needed to decide a winner.

After an intentional walk, Webster would end the game on an RBI single making the final score 3-2 with the Gorloks taking the extra inning victory.
Saints starting pitcher Risse pitched 6.3 innings allowing six hits and one earned run while striking out four Gorlok hitters.
Heaton, Olson, and starting catcher
Tyler Henderson (Chisago Lakes, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) each collected two hits for the Saints while Duex, Minks, and
