Men’s Tennis Keeps on Rolling over Morris

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory Sunday over the University of Minnesota Morris at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.

The Saints dropped just one game the entire match as they won by shutout for the sixth straight time.

The doubles teams of Josh Stainer (Portsmouth, England/South Downs College)/Guthrie Coughlin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley HS) and Dylan Kelly (Minneapolis, Minn./Minneapolis South HS)/Tyler Bates (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) and Wells Brose (Mound, Minn./Mound Westonka HS)/Alex Nagle (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) all won by shutouts.

In singles, Stainer won at the No.1 spot won by shutout. Nick Lambrecht (Stacy, Minn./North Branch HS (Minn.-Duluth)) won at the No. 2 position 6-1, 6-0. Cullen Combs (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) at No. 3, Kolin Dean (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander HS) at No. 4, Nagle at No. 5 and Cody Mauston (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) at No. 6 all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

The Saints (17-7, 9-0 UMAC) will be in nonconference action on Tuesday as they will face Saint John's University at St. Cloud's Gold Gym at 4 p.m.
